El 12 de mayo de 2010, el Consejo Directivo
de la Bienal de Venecia, presidido por Paolo
Baratta, designó a Bice Curiger como
Directora de Artes Visuales, a cargo de la
curaduría de la 54a Exposición Internacional
de Arte, a realizarse en 2011.
Graduada de la Universidad de Zurich, Bice
Curiger es historiadora de arte y curadora de
exposiciones a nivel internacional. Desde 1993,
se ha desempañado como curadora en el
Kunsthaus Zurich, uno de los museos más
importantes de arte moderno y contemporáneo,
que, durante años, ha organizado un programa
de exposiciones de relevancia internacional.
Bice Curiger es co-editora y editora en jefe de
"Parkett", una de las revistas de arte más
innovadoras y de mayor autoridad en el mundo,
publicada en Zurich y Nueva York desde 1984.
Desde 2004, ha sido la directora editorial de la
revista "Tate etc", producida por la Tate Gallery,
Londres. Es también autora de numerosas
publicaciones y catálogos de arte
contemporáneo.
